Foggy Day - Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald
This piece was composed by George and Ira Gershwin and first performed by Fred Astaire in the 1937 motion picture musical “A Damsel in Distress” (based upon P. G. Wodehouse’s novel of the same title).
2. Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön (“This image is enchantingly lovely”) - W. A. Mozart
This famous aria takes place in the opening scene of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute”, in which the protagonist, Prince Tamino, falls in love with Princess Pamina after viewing her portrait.
3. Blue in Green - Miles Davis
This piece was composed by pianist Bill Evans and featured in one of the greatest jazz albums of all time, “Kind of Blue” by Miles Davis.
4. Nocturne No. 8 in D-flat - Frederic Chopin
Originally written for piano, Chopin performed this nocturne for fellow-composer Felix Mendelssohn in Leipzig in 1835, who was greatly impressed.
